FEATURING
front: Chinese ideograms
- Top to bottom:
常平 = Sang pyong, a Department of Korean Yi Dynasty
- Right to left:
通寶 = Tong bo, means currency

Lettering:
 常
寶 通
 平

back: Mint mark at top, serial number at bottom, crescent below serial number. Denomination right to left.

*户 (Ho): Treasury Department

KOREAN MUN:
The mun was introduced as the main currency of Korea in 1633 and stayed in use until 1892. It resembled and was derived from the Chinese wen (cognate also to the Japanese mon and Vietnamese van). Coins denominated in mun were cast in copper or bronze and were round with square holes with Sangpyeong Tongbo {상평통보, 常平通寶} logograms on the front.
The literal translation is "always exact coin" a reference to stable value
