1955 Nepal 4 Paisa ~ Tribhuvana Bir Bikram {1-year issue} 2S

Made of Bullet Casings!!!

front: Also known as "Nepal Bullet Paisa", These 4 Paisa (1955 AD) coins were minted from World War II rifle bullet casing which was used by the Gurkha soldiers who fought against the Japanese in the Pacific. The Bullets were converted into Paisa to commemorate their courage and vigor during the war.

Gurkhas are closely associated with the khukuri, a forward-curving Nepalese knife, and have a well known reputation for fearless military prowess. The former Indian Army Chief of Staff Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, once stated that "If a man says he is not afraid of dying, he is either lying or he is a Gurkha."
