front: bull's head, motif coming from an ancient silver bowl dated to 14th century BC

back: Cyprus coat of arms (A dove holding an olive twig and the independence year 1960), laurel twigs around.

The background is a copper-yellow colour; this symbolises the large deposits of copper ore on Cyprus (chiefly in the form of chalcopyrite, which is yellow in colour)
